Lindfield, West Sussex — Local author and educational innovator Matt Newnham is thrilled to be featured in the August 2025 issue of Lindfield Life, highlighting the next exciting chapter in the Space Ranger Fred universe. The article details Matt’s collaboration with acclaimed Lindfield actor Roger May, who narrates the newly released audiobook version of Space Ranger Fred and the Shoelace Adventure, now available on Audible.
“Roger’s performance is outstanding, and he’s been an incredible collaborator throughout the process,” Newnham said. “He’s not only voiced the audiobook, but is also set to bring the character Zando Centauri to life in our upcoming animated series.”
The collaboration marks a key turning point in the growth of Space Ranger Fred, which began as a simple classroom resource and has since evolved into a globally-minded educational brand spanning books, animation, gaming, and audio.
“Who would’ve thought something from Lindfield could start to go intergalactic?” Newnham told Lindfield Life.
In the interview, Matt also credited the local creative community for helping elevate the project. “Roger has kindly opened his contacts book and brought some remarkable and well-respected voice talent on board,” he said. He also acknowledged support from Lindfield resident Geoff Heath, who has shared valuable insight as development on a Space Ranger Fred video game ramps up.
